Our laboratory pioneers real-time imaging of proteins and small molecules within the retina, and is equipped with a state of the art confocal/two-photon microscope. Also, our research heavily depends on the cell culture system to biochemically study the components required for photoreceptor morphogenesis/maintenance.
The applicant is expected to be highly independent and be capable of designing experiments and conducting hypothesis based research projects. The candidate should have a strong background in cell biology, molecular biology, and biochemistry. Knowledge of fluorescence microscopy is favorable, although not necessary. Salary will be commensurate with experience and will adhere to current NIH guidelines.
