The Department of Biology at American University invites applications for a renewable full-time, term faculty position as the Assistant Director of Biology Teaching Laboratories to begin Fall 2011. A PhD in Biology or a closely related field, research experience; and teaching experience are required. Membership in relevant professional associations is desirable as is proficiency in computer skills as it applies to laboratory pedagogy. The successful candidate will directly supervise and monitor lab sections for introductory Biology courses, evaluate student performance in those lab sections, and coordinate with faculty teaching the associated lecture portion. Additional duties may also be assigned by the Director of Biological Laboratories.
