- OPEN
We have an opening in computational systems biology/metabolic engineering.
A major focus of the project will be to refine the genome-scale metabolic network reconstruction of Chlamydomonas reinhardtii, an alga of interest for its ability to produce hydrogen and other biofuel targets. There is also substantial interest in applying the metabolic network to pursue novel metabolic engineering hypotheses. This work is being done in collaboration with Dr. Kourosh Salehi-Ashtiani and other experimental researchers at the Center for Cancer Systems Biology at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School.
Location: Charlottesville, VA
Excellent communication skills and a Ph.D. in bioengineering, bioinformatics, chemical engineering, or biochemistry or molecular biology with strong experience in a quantitative field are required. Individuals with computational modeling and experimental systems biology expertise particularly relevant to the current project areas are especially encouraged to apply. The position will remain open until filled. To apply for this postdoctoral position, please send a cover letter specifying the position for which you are applying, CV, brief statement of research accomplishments and career goals, and contact information for three references to Dr. Papin.
