The Department of Radiology’s Basic Radiological Sciences Division at the University of Michigan School of Medicine is seeking highly motivated candidates to fill an immediate job opening for a postdoctoral research fellow working on Doppler ultrasound research. The position is for a one-year appointment with a second year renewal option.
This research fellowship will investigate Doppler methods for monitoring blood flow, specifically volumetric flow using 3D ultrasound. The research involves development of quantitative methods for use in a variety of future applications for volumetric flow. Experimental and analytical skills will be needed for this research that includes studies using state-of-the-art 3D ultrasound scanners and flow phantoms in bench-top as well as preclinical settings.

Qualified candidates should possess a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering, applied physics, electrical engineering or a related field and be fluent in written and spoken English. Ideal candidates should be well versed in the field of biomedical ultrasound with specialization in Doppler measurements and 3D ultrasonic imaging. Moreover, candidates should have extensive experience with signal processing using Matlab and be able to set up and conduct experimental research.
